  • Lead wealth management corporate development and transaction execution, including:
    • Partnering with enterprise and wealth management leaders to translate strategic priorities into a focused inorganic growth agenda and actionable pipeline.
    • Sourcing and assessing acquisitions, minority investments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships across broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, wealth platforms, financial planning, technology, investment solutions, and adjacent services.
    • Evaluating strategic fit, market attractiveness, competitive positioning, advisor and client value propositions, organic growth potential, economics and scalability.
    • Building and interpreting financial models and valuation analyses, organic and inorganic growth rates, revenue mix, fee rates, advisor productivity, client retention, net flows, margin expansion, capital requirements and transaction returns.
    • Leading cross-functional deal teams and critical work streams through diligence, negotiation, approval and closing; identifying key risks and value drivers; engaging internal and external subject matter experts; and owning executive management and Board materials.
    • Partnering with business and functional leaders to shape integration priorities, operating-model decisions, governance and value-realization plans, with particular attention to advisor and client retention.
  • Develop Analysts and other team members through active coaching, feedback, mentoring, recruiting and training.
  • Role model inclusive, client-centered and team-oriented leadership.
  • Influence the company’s strategic direction through an integrated partnership among Wealth Management, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development and Strategic Intelligence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Corporate Development at a wealth manager or related entity within the wealth management ecosystem, including investment banking, private equity, principal investing or other advisory services at the Associate level or above, including experience leading substantive portions of M&A transactions.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating wealth management, advisor network and related distribution businesses, including their operating models, growth drivers and economics.
  • Experience from a top-tier investment banking firm, investment organization or leading internal Corporate Development function.
  • Bachelor’s degree; a graduate degree is valued but not required.
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, with the ability to build well-reasoned projections, assess transaction returns and clearly communicate key assumptions, risks and implications.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional diligence and working effectively with senior business leaders, functional experts and external advisers.
  • Track record of developing Analysts and other team members through coaching and mentoring.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of wealth management industry dynamics, including advisor-led distribution, growth drivers, client segmentation, recurring fee-based revenue, regulatory considerations, technology enablement and consolidation trends.
  • Strong transaction discipline, including exemplary attention to detail, sound judgment, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to create concise, compelling and data-driven communications for senior leaders and governance forums.
  • Ability to build trusted, high-impact relationships with senior leaders, business partners, target-company management teams and external advisers.
  • Commercial orientation and the ability to connect transaction analysis to practical implications for clients, advisors, growth, operations and long-term enterprise value.

Direct experience at a leading wealth management firm is strongly preferred. Experience in adjacent sectors—including asset management, retirement, insurance, financial technology or advisor services—may also be relevant when paired with a strong understanding of wealth management business models and transaction dynamics.
