Parker McCay P.A. is seeking an experienced attorney to join its well-established Public Schools, Education, and Labor and Employment Law Practice Group. We are looking for a motivated attorney with five (5) or more years of experience representing New Jersey public school districts in special education matters and/or labor and employment law affecting public employers.
This position offers the opportunity to work with school boards, superintendents, business administrators, human resources professionals, and other district administrators on a wide range of legal matters impacting public education.
The successful candidate will handle complex special education litigation while also advising school districts on employment, personnel, governance, and day-to-day operational issues.

- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing.
- Five (5) or more years of experience representing public school districts or other public entities in education law and/or employment law.
- Significant experience handling special education litigation and counseling school districts on IDEA and Section 504 compliance.
- Experience with public sector labor and employment law, including collective negotiations, grievance matters, employee discipline, and personnel issues, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish trusted relationships with boards of education, administrators, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in client development and expanding professional relationships.
