Part-Time Rotating Shift
Please note: Shifts may vary depending on business needs. Work arrangements are subject to change at any time.
The House Supervisor position exists to provide supervision and direction to RNs, LPNs, and CNA’s in nursing support positions on assigned shifts to assure the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process in accordance with nursing, division, and nursing home-wide standards. This position, when acting as the on-call facility charge nurse, has ultimate responsibility for maintaining safe, adequate nursing coverage for all or multiple residential neighborhoods in the facility.
Additionally, as a Nurse III, you can expect to:
- Direct, mentor, and evaluate a team of at least three nursing staff members, including delegating duties, resolving conflicts, and participating in hiring.
- Oversee and deliver direct patient care by completing comprehensive nursing assessments, developing individualized care plans, and administering medications and treatments.
- Assume round-the-clock accountability for the assigned facility neighborhood, ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality care and adherence to current standards of nursing practice.
- Act as the lead responder in crisis situations, immediately managing medical and psychiatric emergencies, accidents, and facility disasters while filing all required incident reports.
- Maintain and enforce strict facility compliance with state and federal regulations, specifically CDPHE and VA standards, as well as internal policies and accreditation requirements.
- Facilitate seamless communication across a multidisciplinary team including physicians, dietary, and operations. Serve as the primary clinical liaison between shifts and management.
- Maintain precise medical records and track key clinical systems (e.g., skin, falls, weight loss), transcribe physician orders, and ensure consistent daily and weekly staff charting compliance.
- Champion quality improvement by monitoring shift-level metrics, presenting reports to the Performance Improvement Committee, and selecting/advocating for residents at weekly Utilization Review meetings.
- Provide exceptional patient advocacy by promptly communicating any changes in physical or mental status to physicians and families, obtaining necessary orders, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Sustain personal and team clinical competencies through continuing education, literature reviews, clinical supervision, and active participation in professional staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Special Qualifications:
Required to possess a current BLS or CPR card and maintain a Colorado RN license in good standing.
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
Current, valid licensure as an RN from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
AND
Three (3) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Substitutions
Appropriate education will substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:Two-plus years of long-term care experience
- Prior training with dementia
Experience with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and experience working with veterans
Job-Related Competencies
Knowledge and understanding of the Elder Justice Act
Knowledge and understanding of the rights of medications
Knowledge and understanding of the diabetic protocols
Experience in electronic documentation

"Direct contact" may include positions in which persons have access to or unsupervised time with clients or patients, including but not limited to maintenance personnel, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, and security personnel.)
- Full background checks include:

- This position will also provide direct care to vulnerable adults requiring a CAPS check (as defined by C.R.S. 26-3.1-101, position provides services & support care to at-risk/vulnerable adults including case management, clergy, physical or mental health services, safety or welfare services)

Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a prorated basis to determine qualifications. Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:
Relevant years of state service experience.
