This attorney will handle user disputes in online arbitration, help internal teams address a large volume of pre-arbitration user disputes and small claims matters, work with outside counsel to compel arbitration of user disputes filed in court, help respond to regulatory inquiries from state Departments of Insurance and Attorneys General related to user disputes, and provide strategic guidance to internal teams handling consumer escalations and claims disputes.
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of relevant litigation experience, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment. - Evaluate pre-arbitration disputes and advise internal teams - Review case files for a large volume of budding disputes and either help internal teams negotiate resolutions or prepare them for arbitration.
- Support outside counsel - Work with outside counsel to review briefing, respond to discovery, provide evidence, and source evidence and declarations in support of motions to compel arbitration and various insurance matters.
- Draft regulatory responses - Work with internal teams to respond to regulatory inquiries related to user complaints on a variety of issues.
- Respond to discovery - Help prepare responses to party discovery, defend depositions, and third-party subpoenas.
- Advise the business - Provide succinct, practical legal advice to internal teams—including Trust & Safety, Customer Experience, Claims, and Operations—on dispute escalations, consumer complaints, and litigation risk mitigation.
- Analyze risk - Identify, review, analyze, and mitigate litigation risks; flag emerging dispute patterns to senior legal and business leadership.
- Solve problems - Approach legal matters with a customer-focused mindset while protecting Turo's interests; balance legal risk with business relationships.
- Efficiency & Cost Management - Balance thorough legal representation with cost-effective case management, applying appropriate triage and settlement strategies to high-volume dockets.
Your profile

- 3+ of relevant litigation experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department
- Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of litigation management, including case assessment, pleading drafting, discovery management, settlement negotiation, trial preparation, and oral argument
- Strong writing and communication skills with ability to draft clear, persuasive legal documents and explain complex legal concepts
- Problem-solving capability with ability to think strategically while managing competing priorities and high-volume dockets

Turo Recruiting Scam Alert:
We’ve learned that there are scammers targeting job candidates by impersonating Turo and its employees. We ask candidates to be careful of fraudulent job postings or suspicious recruiting activity during their job search, especially if they’re contacted through unofficial channels (such as Instagram, Telegram, MS Teams, etc.). In general, Turo interacts with candidates through our Careers page and via turo.com email addresses, and we don’t ask candidates for sensitive financial or personal info or request money as part of the hiring process (so an application fee or equipment costs). If candidates are not sure whether they’re dealing with an impersonator, they can contact Turo’s Recruiting Team at [email protected]. Candidates can also report suspicious activity to the FTC or other appropriate authorities.
Turo AI Policy:
Turo may use AI-enabled tools to support our recruiting operations, including gathering information from candidates, drafting communications, helping with interview note-taking and assessment, and so on. These tools only supplement our team; all decisions to advance or hire candidates are made by Turo employees. While we welcome candidates to use AI-enabled tools to help prepare for their interviews, the use of such tools, including any AI chatbots or note-takers, is not permitted during live interviews or technical assessments. We want to see how you consider and solve problems in real-time, so interviews and assessments are all you (unless we indicate otherwise and ask you specifically to use an AI-enabled tool to answer a question). If during the application process you require the use of an AI-enabled tool as a reasonable accommodation for a disability, please let us know at [email protected].
