Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Cost Control Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will support internal project cost control activities by assisting with budgets and forecasts, tracking project costs, updating internal systems, and preparing reports for project managers and project teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Support Project Control Engineers, Senior Project Control Engineers, and Project Controls Managers with project budgets and forecasts.
• Track labor, subconsultant, and other project-related costs, including actuals, commitments, expenditures, and forecast values.
• Collect, organize, verify, and reconcile cost information from project managers, project teams, design discipline leads, timesheets, and internal systems.
• Update project controls, accounting, cost management, and reporting systems.
• Prepare periodic cost reports, summaries, dashboards, spreadsheets, management reports, and project review material and presentations.
• Support cost variance analysis and forecast comparisons.
• Perform basic data-quality, arithmetic, and reconciliation checks.
• Identify and escalate incomplete, inconsistent, or unusual cost information.
• Maintain project cost control files, logs, and supporting documentation.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project cost control, project controls, cost engineering, or a related project environment.
• Intermediate or Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and charts.
• Experience supporting budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, internal cost reporting, or project controls system updates.
• Basic understanding of project budgets, forecasts, commitments, actual costs, labor costs, and cost reports.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and data-reconciliation skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures, meet reporting deadlines, and work effectively with project managers, project teams, design discipline leads, and Project Controls personnel.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Experience using project controls, ERP, accounting, cost management, or internal reporting systems.
• Experience supporting engineering design, construction management, construction supervision, or PMC projects.
• Experience preparing project cost summaries, dashboards, spreadsheets, and management reports.
• Familiarity with project cost structures, reporting codes, and internal budgeting processes.
• Familiarity with cost variance analysis, forecast comparisons, timesheet data, labor costs, expenses, or project accounting information.
