We’re looking for a Resiliency & Emergency Management Specialist to support ATC’s emergency preparedness, business continuity, crisis management, incident response, and organizational resilience efforts through the ATC Ready program. In this role, you’ll coordinate plans, training, exercises, stakeholder activities, action items, and readiness improvements that help protect employees and sustain critical operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Why This Role Matters

Your work will help ATC prepare for, respond to, and recover from incidents affecting personnel, business operations, facilities, systems, or ATC locations. You’ll combine disciplined program coordination with a calm, adaptable, and service-oriented approach to strengthen readiness across the organization.

• Strengthen emergency preparedness, business continuity, and organizational resilience.

• Coordinate plans, exercises, training, and readiness activities.

• Support enterprise-wide incident response and recovery efforts when needed.

• Build productive partnerships across business areas and with external stakeholders.

• Turn lessons learned, stakeholder feedback, and corrective actions into practical improvements.

What You’ll Do

Support Emergency Preparedness & Continuity

• Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience plans.

• Help business areas translate emergency management and continuity concepts into practical, usable plans.

• Maintain program documentation, records, schedules, and readiness materials.

• Support crisis management, business continuity, and organizational resilience initiatives through the ATC Ready program.

Coordinate Exercises, Training & Readiness

• Coordinate exercises, drills, workshops, and tabletop exercises, including logistics and participant communications.

• Develop education, awareness, presentation, and training materials for varied audiences.

• Support after-action reviews, lessons learned, improvement planning, and corrective-action tracking.

• Apply NIMS and Incident Command System principles to planning, training, exercises, and response activities.

Partner Across the Organization

• Facilitate meetings, committees, workgroups, and cross-functional initiatives.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities.

• Prepare clear program updates, reports, presentations, and stakeholder communications.

• Track commitments, assignments, deadlines, basic metrics, and program milestones.

Support Incident Response & Improvement

• Maintain personal readiness to support an assigned incident response role when needed.

• Assist with coordination, documentation, communications, and follow-up before, during, and after incidents.

• Identify gaps and opportunities to improve plans, processes, training, and organizational readiness.

• Remain composed, flexible, and dependable as priorities or operating conditions change.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Health & Safety, Business or Public Administration, Business Continuity Management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be considered.

• One to three years of experience supporting emergency management, business continuity, resilience, incident response, exercises, training, or project coordination.

• FEMA Independent Study coursework, including IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800.

• Ability to organize work, manage competing priorities, track assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare practical updates and materials for varied audiences.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and document management or collaboration tools.

Preferred Experience & Credentials

• Experience supporting emergency preparedness exercises, drills, workshops, or tabletop exercises.

• Experience developing education, awareness, or training materials.

• Experience applying National Incident Management System and Incident Command System principles to planning, training, exercises, or response activities.

• Experience facilitating committees, meetings, workgroups, or cross-functional initiatives.

• Experience tracking after-action items, program metrics, lessons learned, and corrective actions.

• ICS-300, ICS-400, or a related project management, emergency management, or business continuity certification.

• Experience in an electric utility, energy, critical infrastructure, government, public safety, healthcare, transportation, telecommunications, military, or another mission-critical environment.
