Job Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Manufacturing functions of the business. Drive the company culture by setting the objective of Greatness. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensuring credibility in reporting by ensuring timely and accurate data is being input by all manufacturing and support departments. Review and analyze financial reports and financial trends in order to assist senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Reviews and approves financial reports such as the P&L statement, Firm and associated supporting documentation.
- Reviews and approves preparation of accounting analysis: for budgetary planning and implementation, production efficiency, financial reporting, budgetary planning and submittal for capital expenditures
- Provides leadership for project management, manufacturing best practices; operations strategy; and new product launches.
- Responsible for building and developing the operations function; processes; and procedures to support the strategic direction of the business. Specific emphasis placed on strategic planning; process improvement; employee relations; and problem resolution.
- Responsible for establishing standards for cost control; waste reduction; quality; safety; on-time delivery; and supplier management.
- Responsible for establishing and leading manufacturing policies in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques; materials usage; shipping and receiving; capacity planning; production scheduling; safety; customer satisfaction; employee relations; and performance measures.
- Reviews and approves plans for the control of planned production; budget spending; labor efficiency; material efficiency; engineering effectiveness; customer service; and order entry efficiency; along with human resource utilization.
- Reviews performance against operating plans and standards
- Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs
- Reviews and approves projects involving major changes within the department's functional areas.
Education/Experience/Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in business or minimum 5-years manufacturing management experience
- In-depth knowledge of lamination, production control and purchasing are required.
- Basic working knowledge of computers including Oracle™, Excel ™, Word ™, and PowerPoint ™.
