PEMB Design Coordinator

Join Steel Nation as a PEMB Design Coordinator and play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and constructability of pre-engineered metal building projects. This position is responsible for reviewing and redlining drawings, evaluating coordination plans, approving PEMB designs, and serving as a key technical resource throughout the design process. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with pre-engineered metal building systems and the ability to identify design issues before fabrication and construction begin.

What You'll Do

• Review, redline, and approve PEMB design drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements. *Drawing Review & Design Approval
• Review coordination drawings and ensure building layouts, openings, loading requirements, colors, and project-specific details are properly incorporated.
• Verify PEMB designs align with client specifications, purchase orders, and project requirements.
• Identify design conflicts, omissions, and constructability concerns, and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Serve as a technical resource to Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors throughout the design process.
• Collaborate with design and estimating teams on complex projects and provide technical guidance related to PEMB systems.
• Ensure all drawings and design packages are reviewed and approved prior to fabrication and construction.
• Support project success by maintaining design quality, accuracy, and schedule adherence.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 5+ years of experience working with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB).
• PEMB experience is mandatory. Candidates without direct PEMB design experience will not be considered.
• Strong ability to review, interpret, and redline construction and fabrication drawings.
• Experience reviewing and approving coordination drawings and PEMB design packages.
• Thorough understanding of building systems, structural components, foundations, erection, and overall construction practices.
• Experience with PEMB design software such as MBS and ACT.
• Working knowledge of CAD software; Revit experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify design conflicts before construction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
