Harlingen Medical Center is a Level IV Trauma Designated hospital that specializes in Cardiovascular Service, Emergency Services, Neuroscience, Orthopedic Services, Radiology, Rehabilitation Services and Surgical Services. Responsibilities
Assists in planning, coordinating, directing and controlling the day to day operation of food services which includes scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and production, to ensure full compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies. Serves as a culinary resource. Performs duties necessary for optimal patient care, including the safety and efficiency of food prepared in the department, budgetary requirements and compliance to HACCP guidelines, department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
2. Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization required and maintain current.
3. Two (2) years experience in food service operations. Healthcare food service experience preferred.
4. Computer and software proficiency
5. Certificate in Culinary Arts from an accredited Culinary Institute preferred.
6. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential must be obtained within 6 months of hire date required.
County Specific requirement.
1. County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current
