We are searching for the best talent for a Manufacturing Technician (Warehouse) to join our Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain organization located in Wilson, North Carolina.
J&J is expanding our manufacturing capacity with a $2 billion investment to support strong portfolio growth and continue delivering breakthrough innovations and transformational medicines for patients. The new facility will expand production of innovative biologic medicines in areas including oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. Purpose: The Manufacturing Technician (Warehouse) is responsible for independently executing scheduled warehouse and manufacturing-support activities within a GMP environment. The role supports the compliant receipt, storage, movement, staging, inventory control, and shipment of materials while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
This position is responsible for quality and maintaining the highest standards in compliance and safety within company policies, procedures and all applicable regulations in alignment with the Site Vision.
You will be responsible for:
- Independently execute warehouse and manufacturing-support processes in accordance with approved standard operating procedures, work instructions, training curricula, and GMP requirements.
- Perform inbound warehouse activities, including material receipt, inspection, documentation, system transactions, labeling, put-away, and storage.
- Perform internal material movements, including staging, replenishment, production supply, returns, cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and material disposition activities.
- Perform outbound warehouse activities, including picking, packing, shipping, and preparation of temperature-controlled or dry-ice shipments, as applicable.
- Maintain accurate inventory and material status within SAP, MES, or other approved warehouse and manufacturing systems.
- Verify material identity, quantity, condition, storage requirements, and status before receipt, movement, staging, or shipment.
- Monitor warehouse storage conditions and promptly escalate temperature excursions, inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, documentation errors, or other nonconformances.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and qualification.
- Support material availability for production by coordinating warehouse priorities with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and other supply chain partners.
- Support schedule adjustments to meet production, material receipt and shipping requirements.
- Retrieve and analyze trend charts and process data on trained procedures.
- Verify and enter production parameters per SOP and Batch Records.
- Accurately complete documentation in SOP’s, logbooks and other GMP documents and/or systems.
- Maintain equipment and instruments.
- Demonstrate training progression through assigned curriculum.
- Accountable for maintaining a working knowledge of basic cGMP requirements to ensure adherence to compliance policies and regulations
- Wear the appropriate PPE when working in manufacturing and other hazardous working environments.
- Proactively maintain a clean and safe work environment. Take necessary action to eliminate safety hazards and communicate to others any observed unsafe behaviors
- Ensure materials are available for production.
- Offer suggestions and follow up on process improvements related to safety, compliance, cost, yield and productivity.
- Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including FDA, EPA and OSHA.
- Adhere to the safety code of Conduct & J&J EHS policies and attend all required EHS training.
- Support the ongoing production schedule by: Report to work on-time and according to the shift schedule.
- Attend departmental and other scheduled meetings.
- Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate positive team-oriented approach in the daily execution of procedures.
- Promote and work within a team environment
- Learn new skills, procedures and processes as assigned by management and continue to develop professionally.
- Create and or provide documentation support for SOPs, WIs, and Batch record revisions
- Responsible for audit preparation and participation
- Review and understand non-conformances
- Champions programs and initiatives that support our business, environment and communities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; trade school education or equivalent preferred. Candidates must have 3–6 years of manufacturing or distribution experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry, or an equivalent combination of education, trade school, work experience, and/or military service.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Follow instructions
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Working knowledge of cGMP's in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build productive relationships, collaborate effectively, and work well within a team while treating others with dignity and respect.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic supply chain environment, with the ability to act quickly and with accountability to meet organizational goals.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to thrive in a multi-cultural and matrixed environment.
- Maintain high ethical standards and integrity through Credo-based actions.
- Preferred knowledge of DCS, MES, and SAP systems.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee:
- Needs to be mobile and able to independently transport themselves between various sites/locations, as dictated by the essential functions and responsibilities of the position.
- Is frequently required to communicate with coworkers.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb, bend and stoop; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Needs to perform gowning procedures to work in manufacturing core.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, reaching with hands and arms, and using hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to talk, hear, taste and smell; must have the ability to work from ladders or platforms up to 30 feet in the air and the ability to lift, push or pull up to 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to qualify for respiratory protective equipment use.
- Will be required to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs) as needed
