Security Officer

Location: Durango, CO 81301
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23.50 per hour
Schedule: Wednesday to Sunday | 3:30 PM - 11:15 PM
 

Position Summary

Citadel Security USA is seeking a reliable and observant Unarmed Security Officer to help maintain a secure, orderly environment at an assigned property in Durango, Colorado. This position involves regular patrols, monitoring access points, recognizing potential concerns, and documenting daily activity.

The officer will interact with authorized personnel and visitors while following established post orders and reporting procedures. The ideal candidate is attentive, communicates clearly, and can work independently while remaining responsive to supervisors and changing conditions.
 

What You Will Do

• Conduct Routine Patrols: Walk assigned interior and exterior areas, including buildings, grounds, access routes, and designated work zones, to identify unusual activity or security concerns.
• Monitor Entry Points: Verify authorization before permitting access and report attempts to enter restricted areas without approval.
• Observe Conditions: Stay alert to suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, property damage, unsafe conditions, and other irregularities.
• Follow Established Procedures: Apply post orders and assigned instructions consistently, referring questions or exceptions to the appropriate supervisor.
• Respond to Incidents: Take appropriate action within your training and authority, request additional assistance when necessary, and promptly notify the designated contact of significant events.
• Prepare Accurate Reports: Complete daily activity logs and incident reports with clear, factual, and timely information.
• Communicate With Supervisors: Share relevant observations, security concerns, and shift updates with supervisors and authorized site contacts.
• Maintain Professional Conduct: Use respectful communication, remain composed during challenging interactions, and represent Citadel Security USA professionally.
• Support a Secure Environment: Maintain awareness throughout the shift and help protect people, property, and authorized operations.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow written procedures, instructions, and reporting requirements.
• Sound judgment when identifying concerns and determining when to request assistance.
• Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to supervisors.
• Ability to meet applicable background screening and other job-related requirements.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous security, patrol, loss prevention, or related experience.
• Familiarity with access monitoring, routine inspections, and incident documentation.
• Experience communicating professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, or members of the public.
• Ability to recognize potential risks and report concerns promptly.
