Description
Project Financial Coordinator, Project Financial Management
Do you want to join a global leader in renewable energy infrastructure? If so, CIP Molecule Technologies is currently looking for a Project Financial Coordinator to join our Project Financial Management team in Madrid.
Team
You will join the Project Financial Management team at CIP Molecule Technologies, working alongside three finance professionals in Madrid and one in Houston. The team supports project teams and stakeholders across the wider CIP organization, providing financial oversight, reliable information and practical decision support.
Role
As Project Financial Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day financial activities for several assigned projects, including major initiatives in Denmark and Germany as the portfolio advances. Your principal focus will be budgeting, forecasting and cost controlling, with responsibility for communicating a clear view of project performance, financial commitments and funding needs. Several projects are expected to progress from development towards construction in the second half of 2027 and early 2028, giving you the opportunity to support their financial management through this important transition. You will work with several Project Directors, CIP teams and external service providers, adjust priorities as projects evolve, and raise financial risks early. The role requires clear accountability and the ability to deliver consistently with limited day-to-day supervision. Occasional travel is expected.
Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
- Own budgets, forecasts and regular reforecasts for multiple projects; track actuals, commitments, accruals and variances, and maintain cost control,
- Maintain cash flow forecasts, liquidity visibility and funding plans; coordinate timely cash calls and shareholder funding requirements,
- Act as the key finance contact for Project Directors and other stakeholders, providing clear management reporting, financial analysis and concise executive or board-level materials,
- Oversee the quality and completeness of project accounting, financial statements and reconciliations prepared by internal teams or external providers; coordinate statutory, tax and audit deliverables,
- Maintain financial controls, approvals, supporting documentation and audit trails; identify financial risks early and ensure appropriate follow-up,
- Coordinate financial inputs across concurrent projects, CIP teams and external providers, while improving finance processes and supporting decisions through project development, construction and operations.
You
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related discipline and bring approximately 5–10 years of relevant finance experience. The role requires solid experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial or project controlling, along with cost management and review of budget-versus-actual results. You have taken full responsibility for financial deliverables while managing several stakeholders or projects at the same time.
Experience from infrastructure or investment funds, project-based businesses, energy or another complex finance environment is valuable, but direct Power-to-X or CCUS experience is not required. You have sound accounting and financial control knowledge and can review financial information and coordinate accounting, tax, statutory reporting and audit providers. Advanced Excel, management reporting and presentation skills, together with fluency in English, are required; additional European languages are an advantage. Relevant experience may come from an in-house or consulting environment where you have had genuine direct responsibility.
We look for the following in the candidate:
- Very organized, disciplined in meeting commitments, and capable of working effectively with little supervision,
- Well organized and able to adjust to changing priorities, with the ability to manage a consistently demanding workload and shifting project priorities,
- Skilled at collaborating with diverse stakeholders across projects, functions, and regions while keeping priorities aligned
- Methodical, detail-oriented and focused on identifying issues and practical solutions,
- Clear and constructive communicator, able to translate financial information into actionable insights.
