About the Job
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support the Service Company team in delivering and enhancing the accounting, reporting, and financial operations of the Service and Holding entities. This role includes ownership of the monthly close process for a portfolio of entities, delivery of internal reporting to the MS&AD Group and Management/Boards, oversight of statutory accounts and regulatory returns, and driving improvements across financial control and reporting processes.
What you’ll spend your time doing

- Review and prepare complex accounting journals including accruals, prepayments, tangible and intangible additions/disposals, amortisation/depreciation, intercompany recharges, allocations, interest calculations, and reclassifications.
- Own balance sheet substantiation procedures and ensure timely completion and review of reconciliations, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Perform detailed analytical reviews and provide meaningful financial insights to support reporting outcomes and management decision-making.
- Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, coordinate year-end audit activity, and manage audit deliverables and stakeholder queries in a timely manner.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, supporting management, board, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support the Group consolidation process through accurate and timely quarterly reporting submissions.
- Ensure robust documentation of finance processes, risks, and controls, supporting compliance with internal governance standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system enhancements within the finance function, contributing to finance transformation initiatives and change projects.
- Provide day-to-day management, guidance and support to junior team members, including allocating and reviewing work and assisting with technical development where required. Support performance management activities, ensure deadlines are met, promote high standards of financial control and reporting, and foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
You’re going to enjoy this job if you also:
- Have a proactive and solution-focused mindset with strong critical thinking skills.
- Are a motivated and dynamic individual who takes ownership and drives high standards of delivery.
- Embrace change, continuous improvement, and process optimisation.
- Enjoy working collaboratively while also being confident operating independently.
- Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Are comfortable managing competing priorities, multiple deadlines, and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Enjoy mentoring and supporting colleagues within a team environment.
