  • Perform Dish Room Operations: Complete all essential dish room functions, including tray assembly, cart delivery and retrieval, tray removal, and loading and unloading the conveyor-type dish machine.
  • Maintain Food Safety Standards: Follow proper handwashing, personal hygiene, glove use, food handling, and temperature control procedures to help protect patients and staff.
  • Clean and Sanitize Equipment: Wash and sanitize plates, utensils, pots, pans, kitchen equipment, floors, and food preparation areas using approved cleaning procedures.
  • Follow Sanitation and Quality Standards: Maintain temperature logs, quality control and quality assurance records, cleaning checklists, and maintenance reports in accordance with department procedures and applicable HACCP, Joint Commission, and Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements.
  • Use Cleaning Chemicals Safely: Follow established chemical handling procedures and quality assurance guidelines for appropriate sanitizer concentrations and chemical-to-water ratios, where applicable.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Work Environment: Ensure clean items are stored appropriately and kept separate from soiled items to prevent contamination.
  • Support Kitchen Operations: Assist with food preparation, special cleaning projects, and other operational duties as assigned to meet department needs.
  • Work as Part of a Team: Collaborate with Food and Nutrition team members to maintain efficient operations in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen while demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate Initiative and Flexibility: Work independently with minimal supervision and respond to changing priorities and additional assignments as needed.
