13The Role: Director, Oil, Fuels, NGLs, and Biofuels Americas Consulting
The Team: This team leads S&P Global’s consulting within this Oil, Fuels, NGLs, and Biofuels for Americas region. This team of diverse professionals brings together broad industry experience, working collaboratively with each other and other teams within S&P Global to provide our clients with expert insight, analysis and advice.
The Impact: This role is responsible for developing new businesses, coaching junior consultants/analysts, driving consulting sales and managing high complexity projects.
What’s in it for you: S&P Global’s clients include virtually every major oil industry participant including producers, refiners, retailers and financers. This role will provide an opportunity to work directly with different clients, involving some travel, learning opportunities within the constantly evolving midstream, downstream, NGLs and Biofuels space, as the energy transition progresses and industry participants need to adapt and change.
Responsibilities: Support and/or manage consulting projects across the full range of consulting assignments in the midstream / downstream oil segment, energy transition/decarbonization studies, transaction/due diligence support, investment and strategy analysis, crude oil pricing and marketing, price and margin forecasting, NGLs and biofuels studies
- Provide consulting/technical leadership and coaching to junior colleagues in the team
- Lead local consulting business development, bring in and close sale of new consulting leads, grow consulting revenue
- Develop productive relationships within industry among client companies to generate recurring consulting business and revenues
- Work with consulting project teams, and coordinate with our research groups to leverage Energy leading industry insights and analysis
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Energy global consulting business
- Be knowledgeable of Energy subscription products and services, and represent the chemical, oil markets, midstream and downstream research to clients and prospects

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to Canadian Candidates:) S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is 180,000 CAD to 210,000 CAD. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In accordance with Ontario's new regulations effective January 1, 2026, this job posting provides information on expected compensation. What We’re Looking For:
- Proven long-term experience downstream oil industry experience is essential, traditionally acquired by working for industry, consulting or technology firms
- Refinery experience would be ideal, in process engineering / operations / planning and economics / project roles, as would experience of refinery LP usage
- Bachelor's degree and a graduate degree in engineering and/or business are preferred. Any equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Commercial track record of business development and delivery of large, complex projects to either internal or external stakeholders
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of business to enable effective/productive communications with key people including executive level clients
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to participate in, lead, and manage large, interdisciplinary teams
- Must be highly organized and creative with accomplished time and project management skills
