Interns at Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air join teams throughout different departments and work on visible projects that impact our guests and business. Beyond hands-on experience, interns also get the opportunity to network with fellow employees and company leaders through various intern events and programming. Our interns also receive unlimited standby travel benefits during their internship, which means that many weekends are filled with jet setting across our growing network.
This internship is for summer 2027. Our internships are full-time for 12 weeks, and we offer two program timelines to align with different academic calendars.
This internship will be located in SeaTac, WA. If not already in the internship city, candidates will be required to relocate for the duration of the internship.
This internship is designed solely to provide you with skill development and valuable work experience. While the internship provides helpful experience for future opportunities at Alaska Airlines, Inc, it does not guarantee a relevant role will be available at the conclusion of the internship nor future employment.

Key Duties
- Supports the discovery, development, testing, and improvement of AI agents, automation solutions, and other business transformation use cases that address Horizon business needs.
- Partners with employees and leaders across Horizon divisions to understand business processes, gather and document requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and help define practical solutions.
- Helps advance assigned use cases and transformation initiatives by coordinating next steps, tracking progress, communicating updates, and supporting projects through completion.
- Develops training decks, demonstrations, and adoption resources that help employees understand and use AI tools and new solutions. Collaborates with developers, technical teams, and business partners while building knowledge of Horizon operations, airline processes, and emerging technology.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
- Working toward a Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, information systems, computer science, data science, or a related area.
- Demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, business transformation, innovation, technology, or process improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn new technical and business concepts, ask thoughtful questions, and adapt in a changing environment.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.
- Must have achieved a junior or higher academic standing at the time of application.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
- Exposure to AI tools, coding, data analysis, automation, data visualization, design, or project-based business problem solving like Microsoft Copilot Studio and Databricks.

Starting Rate
USD $25.00/Hr.Total Rewards
Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
