JOB TITLE:                  Estimating Engineer

PURPOSE:  Manage, plan, coordinates and directs activities related to the launch of new product and the maintenance of current product.  Confers with management and production staff to review feasibility, determine and implement processes and estimate cost effectiveness.  Selects design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement of existing designs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

o   Knowledge and proficiency of CAD software.

o   Understand and read blue prints.

o   Conduct APQP

o   Ability to perform project management assignments

o   Understand and utilize ERP

o   Develop and implement new business.

o   Knowledgeable and support of company policies, practices, products and services,           Lean Manufacturing and 5 S Programs

o   Must possess excellent proficiency in computer skills, MS Office

o   Participate in kaizen events

o   Must be detailed oriented, systematic, analytical, diplomatic, flexible, patient and             professional.

o   Utilize verbal, written instructions, drawings, diagrams and schematics to       accomplish tasks.

o   Ability to interact with a many levels of the organization, corporate, hourly and salaried  employees, customers and vendors.

o   Compute cost estimates, design / order tooling, set up work instructions optimize build quantities and inventory levels.

o   Resolve application problems.

o   Assist in design tooling prototypes for production.

o   Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.

o   Ability to read, interpret, make recommendations concerning blueprints, schematics and technical drawings and specifications.

o   Knowledge and understanding of ISO/ TS16949 Quality specifications.

o   Ability to work with a wide range of technical, sales and manufacturing personnel.

o   Knowledge of business law, legal contracts, cash flow and working capital.

o   Knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of design and quality        requirements as they relate to components and assemblies.

o   Understanding and have the ability to apply the principles of lean manufacturing and Kanban systems.

o   Strong computer skills, MS Office and use of MRP/ ERP systems.

o   Understand, administer and support company policies, programs, and initiatives including, but not limited to EEO, Workplace Violence, Harassment Free          Workplace, Ethics, ISO, TS16949, Lean Manufacturing and 5 S Programs etc.

o   Other tasks as assigned by the Engineering / Estimating Manager.

 Safety

o   Ensure job specific safety procedure are established and followed.                 

o   Adhere to work, health and safety rules and regulations and procedures.    Perform job tasks observations to detect and correct unsafe acts.  

o   Ensure employees receive effective and timely training in safe work practices.

o   Ensure that routine inspections are conducted by trained personnel with timely corrections to identified safety issues.

Compensation:

* Est Range $71,000 - $89,000

* Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment
