About the Role

Our client is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Agriculture Venture to lead a large-scale agricultural business from establishment through commercial scale operations.

This is a rare leadership opportunity for a highly accomplished agribusiness executive with proven experience building and scaling agricultural operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall strategy, profitability, operational performance, and long-term growth of the venture while working closely with ownership and senior stakeholders.

The role requires a commercially focused leader who can combine deep agricultural expertise with strong business acumen, operational excellence, and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the agriculture venture from establishment through full commercial operation.
• Develop and execute the overall business strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
• Establish annual business plans, budgets, performance targets, and operational roadmaps.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all areas of the business.
• Provide regular business performance updates and strategic recommendations to ownership and senior management.

Commercial & Financial Management

• Take full ownership of the venture's Profit & Loss (P&L) performance.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and investment plans.
• Drive profitability, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth.
• Evaluate business opportunities, expansion plans, and strategic investments.
• Ensure strong financial discipline and commercial decision-making across the operation.

Farm Development & Operations

• Lead the design, development, and expansion of modern agricultural operations.
• Establish systems, infrastructure, and operational frameworks required for large-scale production.
• Oversee crop production, resource utilization, mechanization, irrigation, and productivity initiatives.
• Ensure operational excellence and adherence to agricultural best practices.
• Implement modern farming technologies and performance improvement strategies.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, service providers, and industry partners.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Build productive relationships with local communities and external stakeholders.
• Support commercial partnerships, customer relationships, and off-take agreements.

Leadership & People Development

• Recruit, build, and lead high-performing teams across all functional areas.
• Establish a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Develop leadership capability and succession plans across the business.
• Ensure teams remain aligned with strategic and operational objectives.

Sustainability & Risk Management

• Ensure sustainable farming practices and responsible resource management.
• Identify and mitigate operational, commercial, environmental, and regulatory risks.
• Implement effective governance, compliance, and reporting frameworks.
• Drive long-term business sustainability and operational resilience.

Requirements

• Proven senior leadership experience within large-scale agriculture or agribusiness operations.
• Demonstrated experience managing full Profit & Loss responsibility.
• Proven experience establishing, building, or scaling agricultural ventures from inception.
• Strong background in feasibility assessments, investment planning, and business case development.
• Extensive knowledge of agricultural economics and commercial farm management.
• Experience presenting business performance and strategic recommendations to investors, owners, or boards.
• Strong understanding of mechanized farming systems and modern agricultural technologies.
• Experience operating within irrigated farming environments.
• Exposure to arid or semi-arid agricultural conditions is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Lahore, Pakistan.
• Long-term commitment to the role and business growth objectives.
