The role

ASI is looking for a Grants/Logistics/M&E Officer based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to support a newly awarded U.S. Department of State program working with Burmese civil society.

Managing the program's grants to Burmese civil society organizations is the main focus of the role. The Officer will also provide light logistics and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support to the small program team.

Key responsibilities

Grants

  • Manage the full grant cycle: calls for proposals, application review, pre-award assessments, award, monitoring and closeout.

  • Prepare grant agreements and amendments in line with U.S. Government rules (2 CFR 200), the award terms and ASI policy.

  • Screen grantees against SAM.gov, OFAC and other required sanctions lists.

  • Act as the main day-to-day contact for grantees, building trusted relationships and supporting them to meet reporting and compliance requirements.

  • Review grantee financial and narrative reports, process disbursements and follow up on any issues.

  • Maintain complete, audit-ready grant files and a grants tracker.

Logistics

  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and events for staff, grantees and participants.

  • Support procurement and keep the asset register up to date.

Monitoring and evaluation

  • Collect and compile data from grantees against program indicators.

  • Contribute to program reports to ASI and the Department of State.

Reporting

The Officer reports to the Chief of Party in Chiang Mai.
