What You Will Do *

• Design end-to-end product and interaction experiences for enterprise AI applications, agentic workflows, and AI platform capabilities from problem framing through production delivery.
• Translate complex AI capabilities and technical workflows into intuitive experiences for conversational AI, intelligent workflows, autonomous and semi-autonomous agents, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Design AI-native interaction patterns for uncertainty, recommendations, generated content, citations, evidence, agent progress, planned actions, permissions, trust, transparency, and user control.
• Design human-in-the-loop experiences that allow users to review, approve, modify, reject, pause, resume, correct, escalate, or override AI and agent actions.
• Create user journeys, workflow models, information architectures, wireframes, high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and reusable design patterns for AI experiences.
• Build functional prototypes using modern design tools, frontend technologies, AI-assisted coding tools, LLM APIs, agent APIs, or representative AI behavior to validate interaction concepts before production engineering.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, design experiments, and product validation, and use findings and product feedback to continuously improve the experience.
• Partner closely with AI Application Engineers, Applied AI Engineers, AI Platform Engineers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to move validated concepts into production.

Qualifications You Must Have:
A Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Demonstrated experience designing complex digital products, enterprise applications, B2B SaaS, developer tools, workflow products, or similarly sophisticated software.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, interaction design, user-centered problem solving, and the ability to take concepts through validation and delivery.
• Strong experience with product design, interaction design, information architecture, user flows, wireframing, high-fidelity design, prototyping, and design systems using tools such as Figma.
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, design validation, and iterative product development in close partnership with product and engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical workflows and ambiguous problems into coherent, intuitive user experiences.
• Experience creating interactive or functional prototypes, not only static mockups, using modern prototyping technologies or AI-assisted development approaches.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain design decisions and work effectively with engineers, product teams, business stakeholders, and globally distributed teams.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience designing Generative AI, conversational AI, agentic AI, AI-powered enterprise applications, or developer-facing AI products.
• Experience designing AI-native patterns involving human-agent collaboration, approvals, uncertainty, feedback, citations, provenance, trust, transparency, agent control, and failure recovery.
• Hands-on experience prototyping with HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, React, or similar frontend technologies, including use of AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience prototyping directly with LLM APIs, AI services, agent frameworks, mock AI behavior, or other dynamic systems.
• Understanding of concepts such as LLMs, RAG, agents, tools, context, memory, evaluations, traces, guardrails, observability, and AI platform lifecycle.
• Experience designing complex developer platforms, workflow builders, administration consoles, analytics products, data platforms, engineering tools, or configuration-heavy enterprise applications.
• Experience building and evolving reusable design systems and component libraries in close collaboration with frontend engineering teams.
• Experience using AI throughout the design workflow for research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, content exploration, design critique, and rapid experimentation.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
