Software Technical Manager
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Software Technical Manager to lead a team of developers focused on document management solutions and custom software development. This role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, maintaining high technical standards, and driving adherence to project timelines and quality expectations. Combining strong technical expertise with leadership capabilities, the successful candidate will oversee team performance, provide project oversight, and report on progress and outcomes to senior stakeholders. Acting as a key link between development teams, project objectives, and customer requirements, the Software Technical Manager will ensure seamless execution, foster collaboration, and promote continuous improvement across all development activities.
Skills & Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of developers to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Monitor team productivity, task progress, and alignment with project objectives.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review priorities, address challenges, and maintain effective communication.
- Manage resource allocation, workloads, and task assignments to ensure project deadlines are achieved.
- Prepare and present reports on team performance, project progress, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management and stakeholders.
Project Delivery
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of document management solutions, including workflows, forms, repositories, and system integrations.
- Ensure all deliverables meet project scope, client requirements, and organisational standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements, project plans, and delivery timelines.
- Drive the successful completion of project milestones within agreed schedules and budgets.
Technical Oversight
- Maintain quality standards across all development activities, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and performance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on document management platforms, workflows, forms, repositories, and third-party system integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues escalated by the development team.
- Stay informed of emerging technologies, platform enhancements, and industry trends to support continuous improvement and innovation.
Client Engagement & Support
- Serve as a technical liaison between clients and the development team.
- Gather client feedback and ensure requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
- Provide project updates, clarify technical requirements, and address client concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure post-implementation support and maintenance activities meet agreed service levels and customer expectations.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Laserfiche Certified Professional (LCP) certification, preferably at Solution Provider or Architect level.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) advantageous.
- ITIL Foundation certification beneficial for service management and SLA oversight.
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience working with document management platforms, including workflows, forms, repositories, and third-party system integrations.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical leadership or management role overseeing development teams.
- Proven track record of delivering document management or Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions.
- Experience in full-stack software development and custom integration projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects end-to-end, including scope management, delivery timelines, resource coordination, and stakeholder reporting.
- Experience engaging directly with clients to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and manage expectations.
- Proven ability to prepare, analyse, and present KPI reports and performance updates to senior management and stakeholders.
