Job summary: Palacios Marine & Industrial (PMI) is a leading industrial construction company dedicated to delivering exceptional services in a safe and efficient manner. We are seeking a skilled Groundskeeper to join our team, supporting our commitment to maintaining high standards across all aspects of our operations. This role will be based in an industrial environment, where the successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring the site's grounds are well-maintained and safe for all personnel.

Dues and responsibilities: 

• Mow lawns, trim shrubs and trees, and maintain flower beds 
• Operate and maintain indoor/outdoor equipment and machinery, such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and others 
• Monitor and maintain irrigaon systems 
• Apply ferlizers and pest control treatments as needed 
• Perform roune inspecons of the grounds to idenfy potenal hazards or maintenance needs 
• Work with other site staff to ensure that grounds maintenance does not interfere with site operaons 
• Empty dumpsters 
• Support water route (5 gallon jugs) 
• Support Outages/non schedule days  
• Animal control 
• Support emergent, non-emergent FW conditions 
• Other dues as needed or assigned 

Requirements

Essential qualifications: 

• At least 1 year of experience in groundskeeping or related field 
• Must pass drug screening (urinalysis and hair follicle)
• Must pass site-specific and company safety training
• Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment 
• Basic knowledge of plant care and horticulture practices 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols 
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions 
• Valid TWIC card is a plus

Working conditions: 

• Work primarily outdoors 
• May work in varying weather conditions 
• May require occasional weekend or holiday work 
• Work as part of a larger site staff 
• Report to the site maintenance supervisor 

Physical requirements: 

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks 
• Ability to li up to 50 lbs. without assistance. 
• Ability to stand for extended periods of me 
• Ability to operate machinery for extended periods 
• May require the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
