Overview
As a Hazardous Waste Process Planner Chemist, you'll evaluate incoming hazardous waste receipts for safe disposal, determining processing methods based on chemical properties and regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities include assigning processing codes, assessing chemical reactivity and compatibility, maintaining reactive databases, and ensuring timely waste destruction. You'll work with plant operations personnel to determine optimal processing methods, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and participate in safety reviews and regulatory audits. The role requires extensive knowledge of EPA regulations (RCRA, TSCA, PFOS & HFC chemicals) and hazardous waste processing methodologies. With a BS in Chemistry required and 2-4 years of hazardous waste industry experience preferred, you'll be a key player in ensuring environmental safety and regulatory compliance at Veolia's facilities.
