JOB TITLE: Food & Beverage Lead

REPORTS TO: Director of Food & Beverage

DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage

BUSINESS: Island H2O Water Park

FLSA STATUS: Hourly non-exempt

SENIORITY LEVEL: Mid - Level

SCHEDULE: Must have flexible availability (Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays)

POSITION: Seasonal


JOB SUMMARY:

The Food & Beverage Lead is a working front-line leader responsible for delivering exceptional guest service while supporting the daily operations of the Food & Beverage department. This position spends the majority of its time serving guests, leading by example, assisting with shift execution, and supporting the Manager with operational excellence.

The Food & Beverage Lead does not have independent authority to hire, terminate, discipline, evaluate performance, or make final employment decisions.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example while providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests.
  • Support daily operations by working alongside servers, bartenders, attendants, and support staff.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Help coordinate daily floor assignments as directed by management.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members throughout each shift.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly resolve routine guest concerns.
  • Ensure company service standards are consistently executed.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stocking, and product organization.
  • Support labor deployment and break coverage as directed by management.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained.
  • Coach team members on service standards, operational procedures, and guest engagement.
  • Complete operational checklists, shift reports, cash reconciliation, and other administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Support bar operations, including maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Communicate operational issues and opportunities to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience, or
  • Minimum 6 months in a Lead or Supervisor role within Food & Beverage or Hospitality.
  • Strong guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • ServSafe Manager Certification.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service Certification.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
  • Experience leading high-volume Food & Beverage operations.
