About the role
We're looking for a Senior Manager - Technology Portfolio Management Office (IT PMO) to lead our Technology PMO and play a critical role in driving delivery excellence across AGL's technology change portfolio. This is an opportunity to shape how technology investments are governed, prioritised and delivered, while building a high-performing team that enables strategic outcomes across the business.
As the thought leader of the Technology PMO, you will provide leadership, governance and oversight across AGL's technology portfolio, ensuring initiatives are delivered with transparency, consistency and accountability.
You will partner closely with senior Technology leaders to provide clear portfolio insights across investment performance, delivery progress, resourcing, risks, dependencies and benefits realisation. Through strong governance frameworks and practical delivery disciplines, you'll help drive informed decision-making and support the successful execution of AGL's technology strategy.
You'll also lead and develop a team of Program Managers, Project Managers, Change Managers and Business Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and delivery excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and evolve the Technology PMO, building capability and delivery maturity across Program Managers, Project Managers, Change Managers and Business Analysts.
Establish and maintain fit-for-purpose governance frameworks, delivery standards, controls and reporting practices that support successful project outcomes.
Provide portfolio-wide visibility of demand, delivery pipelines, resource capacity, dependencies and investment priorities.
Partner with Technology leaders to support portfolio planning, prioritisation and strategic decision-making.
Oversee portfolio financial governance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, investment reporting and benefits realisation.
Deliver executive-level reporting, dashboards and insights that provide clear visibility of portfolio performance, risks and delivery outcomes.
Facilitate governance forums and portfolio operating rhythms to support effective oversight and accountability.
Build strong relationships across Technology, Finance and business stakeholders to improve delivery effectiveness and alignment.
Drive performance measurement and benefits realisation through meaningful metrics and data-driven insights.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project and portfolio management practices across Technology.
What You'll Bring
Significant experience leading PMO, portfolio management, project delivery or transformation functions within large and complex organisations. Ideally, you will have experience in establishing a similar function.
Strong knowledge of portfolio governance, delivery assurance, project controls, reporting and risk management.
Experience working across large technology portfolios with multiple concurrent initiatives and diverse stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated success establishing or improving PMO frameworks, delivery methodologies, governance processes and reporting capabilities.
Experience supporting financial governance activities including budgeting, forecasting, investment oversight and benefits realisation.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex portfolio data into actionable insights.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience influencing and advising senior leaders and executives.
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop delivery professionals while fostering a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.
Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of portfolio investment management and delivery performance.
Experience managing vendor, labour, project and investment costs within a large technology environment will be highly regarded.
We’d love to see your applications by Friday 18th September 2026.
