- Monday to Friday with participation in weekend and on-call rota as required

We’re looking for a Senior Embryologist to join our Fertility team at The Portland Hospital. As a Senior Embryologist in the Embryology Laboratory, you’ll be part of a team that delivers exceptional laboratory services to support patients through their fertility journey. Working within a technologically advanced environment, you will contribute to all aspects of assisted conception treatment and laboratory practice, ensuring the highest standards of clinical quality, patient safety and regulatory compliance. Alongside performing advanced embryology procedures, the role offers opportunities to mentor junior colleagues, contribute to service development, and work with innovative fertility technologies in a collaborative and supportive setting.

What you’ll do:
• Perform a range of advanced embryology procedures including IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, embryo transfer support and cryopreservation techniques
• Ensure laboratory activities are conducted in accordance with HFEA regulations, quality management systems and professional standards
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and contribute to quality assurance and audit activities
• Support and supervise junior embryologists, providing training and guidance where required
• Participate in service improvement initiatives, research activities and the ongoing development of laboratory practices
What you’ll bring:
• HCPC registered, biopsy-trained Clinical Scientist with extensive embryology experience
• Significant experience working within a licensed IVF laboratory environment
• Demonstrable competency in advanced embryology techniques including ICSI and cryopreservation
• Comprehensive knowledge of HFEA regulations, quality management systems and laboratory governance
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamworking skills with the ability to support and mentor colleagues
