Job Description:
Summary:
Provide support to equipment manager and mechanics for the maintenance of company equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory
- Pull requested parts from inventory, charge out and re-order when necessary
- Expedite shipping and receiving on parts orders
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers for best pricing and delivery options
- Record and maintain parts and maintenance history in operating system
- Identify and order all parts and materials required for mechanics
- Communicate with customers on parts delivery times to best meet their needs
- Operate Forklift to load and unload parts
- Keep work area clean and presentable
- Answer and make phone calls that deal with parts orders
- Inform Parts Manager of any parts issues
Education and Experience:
- High School/Equivalent
- 2+ years of parts and/or equipment maintenance experience
- Heavy equipment knowledge preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the company
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem solver; can-do attitude
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb on and under equipment to locate part numbers.
- Must be able to look up parts applications by manuals, catalogs or web-based systems.
- Utilize company software (Viewpoint)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices
- Must be able to work in a high pace and safe environment
