Maintenance Technician II

Summary/Objective

The purpose of this position is to work with the Maintenance Technician II to support the manufacturing operations by performing regular maintenance on production equipment and perform other general maintenance work ensuring the machine shop and building are running at maximum efficiency. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. 

Essential Functions

1. Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic malfunctions to resolve breakdowns or make repairs.

2. Utilize digital multimeter and precision measuring tools. 

3. Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment per the preventive maintenance schedule.

4. Prepare Requests for Expenditures and submit to management for approval as needed.

5. Utilize CMMS Software to ensure tasks are being tracked accurately and to maintain proper documentation.

6. Assist with creation & audit start-up maintenance specifications for all facilities.

7. Support modifications, installations, and rearrangement of both production and building equipment systems.

8. Help with maintaining inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

9. Respond quickly to emergencies, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols.

10. Help develop maintenance reports and procedure manuals.

11. Utilize & follow safety measures such as Lock Out Tag Out. 

12. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks for the building, I.E. Plumbing, painting.

13. Maintain building & surrounding grounds as needed, scheduling suppliers for jobs beyond capabilities or due to time constraints.

1. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
2. Any/all other duties as assigned. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds and seldom lifting to 75lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and/or adjust equipment. Moderate reaching, pushing, pulling, gripping, and grasping. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, and steel toed work boots or shoes. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position at 40+ hours per week. Days and hours of work will be determined by management. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday eight (8) hours per day. Occasional overtime, evening and weekend work may be required to meet business demands.

Compensation

Our current hiring pay range for this position is $30-$37. This hiring pay range is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some instances, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills and certifications.

In addition to this base pay, Rockford Ball Screw employees are eligible for a bonus. Depending on your position you may be categorized into different tiers in the quarterly or annual bonus plan. Currently, this position is classified as a Quarterly Bonus within the Individual Contributor tier.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

1. Must be 18 years or older.
2. High School Diploma/GED equivalent or significant relevant work experience. 
3. Intermediate level of computer literacy, specifically Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
4. 4+ years experience with hydraulics & pneumatic and machine repair required.
5. Experience with pipefittings, welding, electronics & industrial electricity wiring (110V/480V), sheet metal fabrications, painting and carpentry work required.
6. Experience with/basic understand of a variety of CNC programs I.E. Fanuc, Mazatrol, Seamen. 
7. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
8. Must  provide their own basic hand tools and standard tools required to perform maintenance work, including appropriate tools for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general equipment maintenance.
9. Capable of using all required hand tools, i.e drills, hammers, screwdrivers, etc. 
10. Ability to read/write, perform intermediate arithmetic, and follow verbal and written instructions.
