About the Team

Join our Digital Design team based in Catania, Italy, a highly skilled engineering group focused on the development of advanced semiconductor solutions. The team works on state-of-the-art digital integrated circuit design, verification, and Design-for-Test (DFT) methodologies, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and reliable products for global markets.

This internship offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing a Master's Degree thesis in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering to gain hands-on experience in semiconductor development while working alongside experienced design engineers on real-world projects.

Position Summary

As a Digital Design & DFT Engineering Intern, you will support the development and implementation of digital design and Design-for-Test (DFT) solutions for complex semiconductor devices. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to explore innovative DFT techniques, algorithms, and methodologies that improve product quality, testability, and manufacturing efficiency.

The internship can be structured as a Master's thesis project, providing the opportunity to combine academic research with practical industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to digital IC design, verification, and Design-for-Test (DFT) activities.
  • Support the development and evaluation of DFT architectures, algorithms, and methodologies.
  • Participate in the analysis of digital circuits to improve testability, coverage, and diagnosis capabilities.
  • Assist in the implementation and validation of DFT solutions using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Conduct research and technical investigations related to digital design and test challenges.
  • Analyze simulation and test data, documenting results and proposing improvements.
  • Collaborate with digital design, verification, product engineering, and test teams.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and thesis-related documentation.
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to engineering discussions and problem-solving activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Interest in semiconductor technologies, digital integrated circuit design, and test methodologies.
  • Good understanding of digital electronics fundamentals, logic design, and computer architecture concepts.
  • Familiarity with hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL) is considered a plus.
  • Basic programming skills in Python, C/C++, or similar languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Motivated, curious, and eager to learn in a challenging technical environment.
