  • Review, analyze, and interpret contract scopes, terms, and conditions to identify risks, obligations, and opportunities for negotiated improvements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for internal stakeholders regarding contractual language, risk considerations, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with executives and project managers to develop risk-mitigation strategies and ensure contract terms align with firm standards and objectives.
  • Support outside counsel and executive team through professional liability claims and project disputes.
  • Respond to Public Records Requests to preserve confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Support executives and internal administrative teams with firm registration compliance.
  • Support drafting and review of non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, subconsultant agreements, and other contractual documents.
  • Ensure appropriate flow-down requirements from prime contracts to subconsultants.
  • Oversee contract compliance processes, coordinating with HR, Accounting, Project Management, and other groups as needed.
  • Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, records, and databases to support consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor team members to support their professional development and ensure high-quality performance.
  • Participate in contract-related training, policy refinement, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication regarding contract status, concerns, and required amendments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, business administration, legal studies, or a related field; Juris Doctor preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in contract administration, contract management, or related legal experience, preferably within the A/E/C industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, negotiate, and apply contractual terms and conditions.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring contract professionals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with professional services contracts involving state, municipal, and federal agencies is preferred.
  • Certification in contract management (e.g., NCMA, IACCM) is preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance and risk management principles related to consulting contracts is preferred.
