Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Medical Oncologist with expertise in Gastrointestinal (GI) Oncology to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based oncology care with a particular focus on gastrointestinal malignancies.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive medical oncology consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for patients with cancer.Manage gastrointestinal malignancies, including colorectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, and other GI cancers.Develop individualized treatment plans based on tumor biology, stage, molecular profile, and current evidence-based guidelines.Deliver and oversee systemic cancer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormonal therapy where appropriate.Evaluate treatment response and manage treatment-related toxicities and complications.Collaborate with GI surgeons, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists through multidisciplinary tumor boards.Provide appropriate genetic and molecular testing recommendations for eligible GI cancer patients.Support clinical pathways for early-stage, locally advanced, metastatic, and recurrent GI cancers.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure high standards of patient safety and quality care.Participate in clinical research, teaching, audit, and quality-improvement initiatives.RequirementsMBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.Recognized specialist/consultant qualification in Medical Oncology.Subspecialty experience or fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Oncology is highly desirable.Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain one.Significant post-specialization experience in medical oncology, preferably with substantial exposure to GI malignancies.Strong knowledge of modern systemic cancer therapies and multidisciplinary oncology care.Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.Preferred ExpertiseExperience in colorectal, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic, hepatobiliary, and GI neuroendocrine cancers, as well as immunotherapy, targeted therapies, molecular profiling, precision oncology, and multidisciplinary cancer management, will be advantageous.
