Description
Animal Outpatient Specialty Network (AOSN) is a privately owned, U.S.- based veterinary outpatient specialty company built around a unified group of board-certified veterinary specialists. Our doctors practice across surgery, dermatology, oncology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and internal medicine.
AOSN has become the partner of choice for board-certified veterinary specialists and the provider of choice for pet parents throughout the United States — delivering exceptional patient care and real peace of mind for the pet parents we serve.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Specialty Veterinary Recruiter, the Specialty Recruiter helps scale AOSN’s recruitment efforts by driving candidate sourcing, outreach, and pipeline development across our portfolio of clinics. Day to day, you will identify, engage, and screen candidates — increasing throughput and supporting the Sr. Recruiter in meeting the team’s hiring goals.
Beyond strong recruiting fundamentals, this role calls for sound judgment, integrity, initiative, and a high standard of professionalism. The ideal candidate is a recruitment professional — ideally with animal health experience — who is eager to deepen their expertise in a fast-growing specialty veterinary organization and to take on greater ownership over time.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition:
• Source and engage candidates at every level — including residents in training, board-eligible associates, and diplomates — through direct sourcing, networking, and targeted outreach.
• Build and maintain candidate pipelines, tracking outreach, follow-ups, and candidate status in the applicant tracking system.
• Help expand relationships with veterinary schools, residency programs, and professional associations.
• Conduct initial screening calls and coordinate interview scheduling with hiring managers.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Partner with the Sr. Specialty Veterinary Recruiter to understand open roles, hiring priorities, and business objectives across AOSN clinics.
• Support Human Resources and Marketing in strengthening employer branding, candidate experience, and onboarding.
Metrics and Reporting:
• Track pipeline activity and provide regular updates to the Sr. Specialty Veterinary Recruiter on sourcing progress and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate recruitment data to support KPI reporting and process improvement.
Compliance and Best Practices:
• Ensure all recruitment activity complies with applicable local, state, provincial, and federal regulations.
• Stay current on recruiting best practices and bring recommendations to the Sr. Specialty Veterinary Recruiter.
• Take on other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Required:
• 2–3 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or sourcing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent recruiting experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with applicant tracking systems and sourcing tools.
• A results-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred:
• Experience recruiting in healthcare services; animal health experience is ideal. Backgrounds in other complex, multi-site, or service-industry environments are also welcome.
• Currently located in, or able to relocate to, Irvine, California.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
• AOSN offers a compensation package commensurate with this opportunity, including a competitive base salary and an incentive plan. The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000, plus an annual incentive target. Actual compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.
• Vacation allowance, paid holidays, sick time.
• Comprehensive medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage, Health Savings Accounts, and wellbeing support including free counseling and referral services.
• Savings and retirement resources, including a 401(k) plan, flexible spending accounts, retirement readiness tools, advisor support, rollover support, and financial wellbeing counseling.
• Life insurance, supplemental health protection plans, legal counseling, identity theft protection, commuter benefits, and more.
