Role: Assistant Manager - Packaging Procurement (Flexibles)
Location: Dhaka CO
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Employment Type: Contractual Role
Compensation: BDT 60,000+ per month (final salary will be determined based on interview performance and overall fit)
Role Purpose
Lead end-to-end procurement and supply assurance for Flexibles Packaging Materials, ensuring cost competitiveness, supply continuity, supplier performance, innovation delivery, and governance compliance while supporting business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing & Supply Strategy
Own the sourcing and supply strategy for Flexibles packaging materials, ensuring uninterrupted material availability to support production and business demand.
Develop sourcing plans that align with business requirements, supplier capabilities, and market dynamics.
2. Forecasting & Demand Planning
Drive annual forecasting and demand planning activities, including market trend analysis, volume reconciliation, and demand reviews.
Manage Anaplan inputs and ensure alignment with Finance, Planning, and Business Units to support accurate procurement decisions.
3. Innovation & Project Delivery
Lead innovation and renovation initiatives by identifying new packaging solutions and sourcing suitable suppliers.
Coordinate packaging trials, material qualifications, and project implementation to ensure timely delivery of business priorities.
4. Cost Savings & Value Creation
Deliver procurement savings and value creation initiatives through supplier negotiations, cost optimization programs, and leverage of global procurement agreements.
Track, validate, and report procurement savings against business targets.
5. Supplier Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to improve service, quality, and commercial outcomes.
Lead supplier onboarding, alternative source development, MOQ optimization, capacity planning, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
6. Supply Risk & Business Continuity
Ensure supply resilience by proactively identifying supply risks and developing mitigation plans.
Manage supplier allocations, contingency actions, and interventions during supply disruptions or shortages to minimize business impact.
7. Quality & Compliance Management
Lead supplier quality and compliance initiatives, including RCA/CAPA closure, issue resolution, sample validation, and USQS follow-ups.
Drive continuous improvement activities to enhance supplier quality and operational excellence.
8. Commercial Governance & Contract Management
Manage supplier contracts, commercial agreements, and allocation frameworks in line with procurement governance requirements.
Support audits, manage supplier claims, and ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Capacity & Inventory Optimization
Steer long-term capacity planning and inventory optimization initiatives in partnership with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Balance service levels, inventory health, and cash objectives across the packaging supply chain.
10. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Planning, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, Quality, Logistics, and Global Procurement teams to ensure seamless execution of business priorities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Procurement, or a related discipline, with ideally 4+ years of total experience.
Relevant experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, supplier management, or packaging materials management.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in supplier negotiations and cost management.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or FMCG environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and planning tools; familiarity with ERP systems and Anaplan will be advantageous.
