Description

Narcotics Agents are responsible for drug-related investigations of criminal violations initiated by CNT Agents, cases referred to CNT by other law enforcement agencies, and other criminal reports as directed. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you are encouraged to apply.

  • Investigates drug violations of a misdemeanor and felony nature.
  • Arrests offenders that violate the law.
  • Writes affidavits for search warrants and completes and executes arrest warrants.
  • Interviews citizens, informants, witnesses, and suspects.
  • Testifies in court proceedings, analyzes investigative information and develops plans of action.
  • Conducts surveillance and undercover operations as directed.
  • Prepares reports and case files on investigations and arrests.
  • Manages informants and establishes working relationships with other law enforcement agencies.
  • Assists the District Attorney’s Office in case preparation.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • High School Diploma or GED; and
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Law enforcement, along with completion of training in narcotics enforcement; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must be Georgia POST Certified as a Police Officer.
  • Must sign release of information forms.
  • Must submit to and pass a comprehensive background investigation, driver’s history check, credit history check, drug screening, and polygraph examination.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of Georgia.
  • May be required to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Knowledge of appropriate federal, state, and local laws, codes, and statutes concerning narcotics enforcement.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Skill in using judgment in interpreting and applying procedures and directions to specific court cases or hearings.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.
