Overview
Graduation with BSN from an accredited School of Nursing (or in process of obtaining BSN). Current NC RN license. Minimum of 3 years experience as RN. Current NC driver's license. Access to automobile for transporting supplies / equipment / students to various sites. BLS certification.
Effective communicator with a wide range of age groups, ethnic, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to identify and interpret the health needs of the school community. Ability to read and write Spanish preferred.
Identifies need for comprehensive health services for students. Coordinates health center activities and client services to assure comprehensive health care needs are met for students enrolled in health center. Coordinates activities with school and community. Demonstrates ability to make timely referrals based on accurate assessment of medical necessity. Obtains parental consent for health center use. Registers/ prepares health center clients as needed when COA is not available. Makes / facilitates referrals to medical providers, dental practitioners, health department, mental health, social services, and other agencies as needed by individuals enrolled in the health center in a timely and effective manner with attention to financial needs of their parents. Assures transportation, translation, mechanism for payment and other barriers to health care access are addressed to increase ability of family's access to care.
Records appropriate entries of student / family contact in patient record. Examines student records for audit issues and makes changes in process as needed to assure appropriateness. Coordinates with billing department to assure correct billing mechanisms and charge capture while maintaining general compliance guidelines. Enters and assimilates data and completes periodic reports. Facilitates documentation by practitioners. Compiles and provides reports as requested to appropriate persons at specified time frames. Assumes responsibility for organizing and maintaining records, collecting data, and responding to communications concerning center patients as request or referred by state credentialing. Assures process, perception, and outcome measures are completed and reports are provided as requested.
Ability to access multiple facilities, lift and transport supplies and equipment.
