Description
The Registrar plays a central role in helping students move through their academic journey, from registration and records to degree completion. CSU Pueblo is seeking a collaborative leader to guide the Registrar’s Office, support accurate and equitable practices, and help the university navigate complex academic records and compliance matters.
This is a visible, on-site leadership role. The Registrar works directly with students, faculty, staff, and university leaders to resolve issues, strengthen services, and keep critical operations moving.
What you’ll doLead the Registrar’s Office. Oversee daily operations and supervise the Associate Registrar and Assistant Registrar. Guide hiring, staff development, staffing decisions, and the office budget. Set policies, procedures, and operational standards that support consistent and equitable service to students.
Safeguard academic records and compliance. Oversee the integrity, maintenance, and issuance of university records. Ensure compliance with requirements affecting academic records, FERPA, enrollment reporting, transfer, graduation, and international student records. Serve as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for SEVP compliance and the primary legal liaison for international student records. Lead reporting, audits, and assessment planning, and represent the office in relevant state and CSU System initiatives.
Guide systems and improvements. Oversee the systems and software that support Registrar’s Office functions. Review and approve contracts, renewals, major projects, and changes affecting academic records or compliance reporting, working with campus governance partners as appropriate. Partner with the Associate Registrar on project priorities and operational stability, and help resolve student and staff tickets and prioritize Registrar-related work with CSU System IT.
Be present when complex issues arise. Work directly with students and campus partners on challenging questions involving records, registration, residency, graduation, and compliance. Bring the right people together to resolve issues promptly and maintain continuity of service.
The Registrar also serves on committees and project teams as assigned and performs other duties in support of the Registrar’s Office, the Division of Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Extended Studies, and the university.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or international equivalent.
- At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in a Registrar’s Office or a closely related higher education administrative function.
- At least two years of experience directly supervising full-time professional staff.
- Demonstrated understanding of higher education policies and functions and applicable state and federal laws.
- Knowledge of accreditation and/or compliance standards in a Registrar’s Office, student information systems, and records management practices.
- Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Knowledge of student records management, degree auditing, graduation certification, and registration processes.
- Working knowledge of Banner, uAchieve, Formstack, and/or CourseLeaf products.
- Experience serving as a PDSO.
- Experience leading registrar operations, student records management, registration services, degree auditing, graduation certification, or academic scheduling.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and developing and implementing policies, procedures, and process improvements.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with faculty, academic leaders, and administrative departments.
Salary
$81,000 to $96,000
