ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Responsible for originating mortgage loans with consumer clients, providing follow-up and closing on loans. The Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for discussing client’s needs, recommending the best loan products, helping customers put together a complete loan package and working with the processing team throughout the loan process. The ideal candidate also has experience selling construction and home equity loans and other bank products. Ultimate goal is to achieve profitable loan growth and profitable loan production, while providing excellent customer service. Responsible for compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 by obtaining and maintaining a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry(NMLS) registration and unique identifier number.

Requirements

RESPONISIBILITIES:

· Soliciting residential first mortgages by developing relationships with realtors, builders and other business referral sources. 

· Originate high quality loans that are within lending policies and procedures. 

· Collect and analyze financial data, maintain an understanding of underwriting requirements to establish and negotiate credit terms. 

· Advise prospective and existing customers of appropriate programs, rates and other pertinent loan information. 

· Follow all applicable real estate lending regulations to ensure proper compliance with each regulation. 

· Maintain awareness of real estate rates, trends and products in the marketplace. 

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· 5+ years of lending experience

· Ability to self-source and generate your own borrowers

· Knowledge of Secondary Market and mortgage loan regulations and guidelines Knowledge of VA and FHA loans

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel 

· Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner 

· Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines 

· Excellent analytical skills

· Excellent customer service skills 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· College degree in business or finance preferred and/or equivalent work experience 

· 5+ years of sales and mortgage industry experience
