Description
Job Specification – Senior Java Developer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our Digital Data & Analytics engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and optimizing high-throughput, low-latency real-time and batch data pipelines that ingest, process, and distribute clickstream and user interaction data across multiple analytics databases and downstream platforms.
You will design configuration-driven microservices, integrate distributed messaging systems using Apache Kafka, implement caching layers, and develop robust REST APIs. Additionally, you will champion modern development workflows by leveraging Generative AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Devin) to accelerate engineering velocity, drive code quality, and maintain high standards of testing and system resilience.
Key Responsibilities
1\. Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java applications for processing clickstream data in real time or batch.
2\. Implement config-driven, Spring-based components for data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment.
3\. Develop and optimize REST APIs for integration with internal systems, and external applications.
4\. Integrate and manage Apache Kafka for high-throughput, low-latency event streaming.
6\. Write optimized Oracle SQL/PLSQL for configuration management.
7\. Leverage continuous integration pipelines to streamline development and deployment.
8\. Use Generative AI development tools (e.g., Devin, Copilot, etc) to write, review, and optimize code efficiently.
9\. Collaborate with business analysts, product team and developers to ensure system reliability, scalability, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in Java application development.
- Expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in Oracle Database (SQL, PL/SQL, optimization).
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (publish/subscribe, streams, scalability)
- Experience with caching frameworks (Redis or equivalent).
- Ability to effectively leverage Generative AI coding assistants for improved development productivity.
- Knowledge of real-time data processing and data pipeline design.
- Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance tuning.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to work across global teams.
- Proven ability to collaborate under the guidance of other lead developers
- Ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
