We’re looking for experienced and motivated Diesel Fitter to join our New Build team in Mackay. Working in a state-of-the-art workshop, you’ll be responsible for assembling and commissioning new Caterpillar mining and construction equipment, ensuring every machine is delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance.

What you’ll be doing
As a Diesel Fitter within our New Build team, you will:
- Build Industry-Leading Equipment - Assemble, fit and commission new Caterpillar equipment and components.
- Diverse Technical Work - Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical installations across a range of new build machines.
- Quality Matters - Conduct inspections, testing and quality assurance checks to ensure equipment meets OEM standards.
- Technical Expertise - Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and service information.
- Problem Solving - Identify and rectify assembly, fitment and commissioning issues to achieve quality outcomes.
- Safety First - Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and Caterpillar standards.
- Team Success - Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams to deliver equipment on schedule.

What you’ll need:
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Trade Qualified - Hold a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or equivalent trade qualification.
- Industry Experience - Demonstrated experience working on heavy mobile equipment, mining machinery or construction equipment.
- Diagnostic Expertise - Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.
- Safety & Quality Focused - A genuine commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship.
- Team-Oriented Mindset - Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a positive, high-performing team environment.
- Ready to Mobilise - Hold a current and valid Driver's Licence.
- Caterpillar Experience Advantageous - Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded but not essential.
