Purchasing Officer | Immediate Start | 8 Week Contract

Are you an experienced Purchasing Officer who can step into a busy environment and hit the ground running?

An established engineering and manufacturing business based in Castle Hill is seeking a capable Purchasing Officer for an eight week temporary contract, commencing as soon as possible.

This role would suit someone with solid purchasing experience who is confident managing purchase orders, following up suppliers and maintaining accurate ERP data. You do not need to be operating at a senior level, but you will need enough experience to work independently and add value quickly.

What you’ll be doing

• Converting purchase requisitions into accurate purchase orders
• Checking pricing, drawing numbers, specifications and order details
• Expediting outstanding orders and maintaining accurate delivery dates
• Keeping purchasing information accurate and up to date within the ERP system
• Communicating with local and international suppliers
• Supporting inventory accuracy and resolving stock discrepancies
• Assisting with supplier records, cost reviews and performance activities
• Reviewing freight, customs and landed cost documentation
• Coordinating international shipments and general purchasing administration

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience within purchasing or procurement, ideally three years or more
• Confidence managing purchase orders from requisition through to delivery
• Strong ERP system experience and excellent data accuracy
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working with local and international suppliers
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
• Power BI exposure would be advantageous
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, electrical or technical products would be highly regarded
