Experience
- 5 years of related clinical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or Bachelor of Arts
- 1 year of experience in pediatric imaging
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
- Registered in Pediatric Cardiac Echocardiography by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Congenital Cardiac Echocardiography by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Excellent communication skills
Job Responsibilities
- Supervises Cardiac Sonographers and Sr. Cardiac Sonographers.
- Achieves administrative outcomes through effective teamwork and mentorship.
- Participates in development and achievement of department goals.
- Resource for staff to escalate concerns of potential or actual conflict resolving and incorporating service recovery.
- Executes implementation plans for system and unit changes.
- Work closely with cardiac imaging research core and Manager, Quality Program for cardiac services.
- Coaches others in clinical decision making and problem-solving.
- Evaluates work to improve process of education within unit and system.
- Facilitates development and implementation of department, working with the manager.
- Performs Senior Cardiac Sonographer job duties, as needed.
- Coordinates with unit leadership oversight of ongoing accreditation readiness for Joint Commission and Inter-societal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories.
- Supports compliance with National Patient Safety Goals.
- Oversees department quality controls and process improvement.
- Assists Manager with development of staff by being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
- Provide Manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.
