Job Purpose 

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems is currently looking for a talented individual to join as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op – Engine Solenoids, at our Propulsion Technical Center, Auburn Hills MI. 

This position would start in January 2027, and end in August 2027. Students in this program are expected to work 40 hours per week on-site in Auburn Hills and typically step away from their academic studies for a semester to participate in the co-op full-time (or enroll in night classes exclusively). 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assists in design, development, and validation of new products 

• Works with product engineers to support prototype builds with documentation and data processing 

• Works with CAD designers or individually to develop tooling used for assembly, performance and validation testing 

• Gathers benchmarking data (performance, design, manufacturing strategy) of competitors’ products and documents with reports 

• Assists test engineers in managing test plans, setting up durability tests and writing reports 

What We’re Looking For 

• Engineering Student (Mechanical preferred) 

• GPA of 3.0 or better 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Computer skills in Microsoft Office products 

• Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools preferred 

• Ability to report onsite to our Auburn Hills campus at least 3 times a week 

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time student
