Foreign Exchange Trader
Location: Makati City

Job Summary
The Foreign Exchange Trader is responsible for executing foreign exchange transactions, managing and growing client portfolios, monitoring currency markets, and providing timely market insights to support trading decisions. The role works closely with the Head Trader, Foreign Exchange Department, and Back Office to ensure efficient trade execution, accurate transaction processing, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute foreign exchange transactions in accordance with established trading strategies, procedures, and risk parameters.
- Monitor foreign exchange rates, currency movements, market trends, economic developments, and other factors affecting the foreign exchange market.
- Provide timely market updates, analysis, and trading insights to the Head Trader.
- Monitor foreign exchange levels and identify potential trading opportunities.
- Manage and develop assigned client portfolios through effective relationship management and trading support.
- Generate and develop new business opportunities through self-generated leads and referrals.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Coordinate with the Foreign Exchange Back Office to ensure the smooth, accurate, and timely processing and settlement of transactions.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of trade-related information and documentation.
- Resolve trade discrepancies and transaction-related concerns in coordination with the appropriate internal teams.
- Stay updated on BSP regulations, foreign exchange policies, banking regulations, and relevant market developments.
- Ensure that all foreign exchange activities comply with internal policies, procedures, risk controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Attend seminars, training programs, and industry activities to continuously enhance foreign exchange trading knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Foreign Exchange Department Head.
Job Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor's Degree graduate of any 4-year course.
Work Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in the banking industry.
- Experience in Foreign Exchange, Treasury, FX Trading, or related financial market functions is highly preferred.
- Experience in client portfolio management, relationship management, or business development within the banking or financial services industry is an advantage.
Certification
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is preferred.
