Description
It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!
We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.
Rock Dental Brands is scaling fast, 115+ clinic locations across the South and Southeast and acquiring roughly 3-4 practices a quarter. This HR Business Partner role owns the full range of day to day people work end to end: employee relations, employee lifecycle, onboarding support, and first line questions across every HR topic. This is a generalist role, not a specialist role. The person in this seat shares coverage of the clinic network with other HRBPs and needs to operate independently within their assigned locations, so breadth and independent judgment matter more than depth in any one area.
Core Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary HR point of contact across the clinic network, partnering with regional and clinic leadership on day to day people issues.
Own employee relations case management from intake through resolution, including documentation, investigation, and coordination with the CPO on escalated matters.
Manage the full employee lifecycle across assigned locations: onboarding, performance management support, transfers, and offboarding.
Support integration of newly acquired clinic locations, including HR due diligence handoff, policy alignment, and onboarding of acquired staff into Rock Dental systems and culture.
Coach clinic and regional leaders on people practices: performance conversations, documentation standards, and consistent application of policy.
Field first line questions across the full range of HR topics, resolving what can be resolved directly and routing the rest to Payroll or the CPO with context already gathered.
Track and report people metrics (turnover, ER case volume and resolution time) and translate trends into recommendations for the CPO.
Maintain working knowledge of employment law across all states in the network (AR, TX, FL, TN, AL, MO) and flag compliance risk before it becomes exposure.
Qualifications:
3-5+ years as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist supporting a multi-site, hourly heavy workforce; healthcare, dental, or DSO experience is a plus but not required.
Demonstrated experience operating inside a private equity backed or high growth environment where priorities shift quickly and headcount plans move with the business. Long tenured, single site corporate HR backgrounds without multi-site or growth exposure are not a fit for this role.
Broad, generalist HR knowledge across the full function, comfortable being the first answer for most questions without needing to escalate every one.
Comfortable owning a caseload directly rather than delegating or escalating by default. This is an execution role, not a strategy or oversight role.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to coach an area and clinic manager through difficult conversations and document it defensibly in the same day.
Working knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems (Workday preferred) and comfort with data to support reporting.
Willingness to travel within an assigned portion of the clinic network as needed.
Success Metrics:
Reduction in annualized turnover across the clinic network, tracked against the company wide clinic assistant retention goal.
ER case resolution time and documentation quality (measured in periodic audit).
Percentage of employee and manager questions resolved without escalation, tracked against a defined baseline.
Leader satisfaction and self sufficiency, measured by declining repeat escalations on the same issue type.
