Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst cum Tester to join the Business Excellence Centre of Excellence. This role combines business analysis and testing responsibilities to ensure that solutions meet business requirements while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
The role supports business users across product launches, Operations Division initiatives, core function improvements, and regulatory Business & IT initiatives aligned with the organisation's objectives.
You will be involved throughout the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering and documentation, business analysis, test planning, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, implementation support, user documentation, and training.
You will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that business requirements are accurately translated into effective system and process solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse, clarify, and document business and functional requirements from relevant stakeholders.
- Understand functional requirements and apply business and functional knowledge to develop comprehensive end-to-end testing strategies.
- Analyse business processes, problems, opportunities, and requirements to support the development and implementation of suitable solutions.
- Validate that proposed solutions meet business requirements and support the organisation's continuous improvement and operational efficiency objectives.
- Develop test scenarios, test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
- Execute testing activities throughout the application lifecycle, with a strong focus on User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Document test results and prepare UAT status reports or scorecards for stakeholders.
- Identify, log, and document defects discovered during testing, including clear descriptions, reproduction steps, and potential business impacts.
- Track and monitor defects with Technology, Operations, and other relevant teams through to resolution.
- Work closely with technical teams to understand project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive appropriate corrective actions where required.
- Communicate testing outcomes, identified risks, defects, and potential business impacts to Business Analysts and business stakeholders.
- Ensure relevant stakeholders remain aligned on findings, recommendations, and resolution plans.
- Provide business and system-related support to stakeholders throughout project implementation and deployment.
- Prepare user guides, operating procedures, and other relevant documentation for new system or process deployments.
- Conduct training and knowledge-transfer sessions for operational users.
- Ensure that all system and process changes comply with applicable risk, governance, and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Preferably at least 2 years of experience in Business Analysis and/or User Acceptance Testing.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with relevant experience in insurance operations and processing may also be considered.
- Experience in gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
- Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing UAT activities would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of project delivery processes and the software/application development lifecycle.
- Comfortable working with technology and able to quickly understand and adopt new systems and tools.
