Join our dynamic team at the Whole Health Clinic, where you will play a vital role in connecting patients to life-changing medical assistance programs, including Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Tobacco Tax, and Sliding Fee Medical Assistance programs. As an Enrollment and Eligibility Assistant, you will be at the heart of our integrated outpatient care environment, serving as a welcoming first point of contact for new patients while guiding them through the enrollment and eligibility process with compassion and professionalism. This key position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to both front and back office operations, ensuring seamless coordination of financial screenings, referrals, and required Medicaid documentation that keeps our clinic running efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. POSITION SUMMARY
This position, within a licensed behavioral health/physical health integrated outpatient care environment, identifies, educates and conducts initial screening for prospective enrollment in appropriate AHCCCS, Tobacco Tax and Sliding Fee Medical Assistance programs. Coordinates and monitors the enrollment process to include front and back office operations of enrollment and financial screenings for individuals requesting services.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Answers, screens/forwards calls, provides information, and schedules appointments.

2. Communicates and coordinates with the Crisis Response Center, medical providers, Behavioral Health Inpatient providers, law enforcement, courts, other Behavioral Health agencies, the RBHA, and other county, State, and applicable government agencies.

3. Screens individuals requesting services for eligibility.Completes a Priority Population Screening tool for all persons requesting services.

4. Maintains appropriate intake documentation requirements in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.

5. Interviews clients for potential financial eligibility for multiple counties, State and Federal medical assistance programs to determine residency, household composition, income, assets and medical expenses such as AHCCCS, Food stamps, cash assistance, social security welfare and disability.

6. Requests, researches, reviews and verifies personal documents and files to verify eligibility determination for relevant assistance.

7. Verifies hospital admissions/discharges daily, transmits/receives relevant records, to ensure continuity of care.

8. Completes all training required by licensing, agency, and funding source or as requested by supervisor and participates in individual and team clinical supervision.

9. Has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established procedures and best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Has familiarity with behavioral health community resources and is able to appropriately interact with individuals who have a range of mental disorders.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
