About Ryt Bank

Ryt Bank is the world's first AI-powered digital bank, redefining the future of financial services through technology, data, and innovation. As a licensed digital bank regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and currently operating within the foundational phase of our licensing framework, we are on a deliberate path to graduate from this phase within five years while maintaining a clear and credible trajectory toward profitability.

Our Finance team plays a critical role in this journey, ensuring the Bank maintains strong financial discipline, robust balance sheet management, and scalable finance capabilities that support sustainable growth. Through close partnership with Treasury, Risk, Product, Data, and Technology teams, Finance provides the insights and governance needed to balance growth ambitions with prudent financial and regulatory management.

Role Overview

This role sits at the intersection of Balance Sheet Management, Product Profitability, Treasury Finance, and Finance Systems. Reporting into Head of Financial Control & Reporting, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Bank maintains a well-managed balance sheet, effective capital deployment, and a robust profitability framework across products and business lines.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong analytical rigour, commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate a fast-evolving digital banking environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Treasury, Risk, Product, Technology, and Data teams to deliver actionable insights, strengthen financial transparency, and continuously enhance the Bank's systems, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Balance Sheet Management (BSM)

  • Support the Bank's Balance Sheet Management framework by monitoring liquidity, funding, interest rate risk, capital utilisation, and overall balance sheet positioning.
  • Partner closely with Treasury and Risk teams to support effective Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) governance, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Perform ongoing analysis of key balance sheet metrics, proactively identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact the Bank's financial position.
  • Develop scenario analyses and financial models to assess the impact of market movements, funding strategies, product growth, and capital actions on profitability and regulatory metrics.
  • Prepare management dashboards, performance reports, and analytical insights to support balance sheet optimisation and strategic planning activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of balance sheet management methodologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

Product Control & Commercial Finance

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Bank's products, customer propositions, and commercial drivers, assessing their impact on profitability, funding requirements, and balance sheet structure.
  • Support new product initiatives by providing financial assessments, profitability analysis, and balance sheet impact evaluations throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product, Treasury, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure new products are appropriately configured within Workday and relevant financial systems.
  • Establish appropriate financial controls, reporting structures, and performance monitoring mechanisms for both existing and new product offerings.

Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) & Product Profitability

  • Own the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Bank's Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) framework, ensuring appropriate allocation of funding costs and benefits across products and business units.
  • Deliver timely and accurate product profitability reporting to support business performance monitoring and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with Treasury, Finance, Technology, and Data teams to strengthen FTP methodologies, automate calculations, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Perform reconciliations between source systems, data warehouses, and finance records to ensure the completeness, integrity, and accuracy of profitability reporting.

Finance Systems & Process Improvement

  • Support the implementation, enhancement, testing, and ongoing maintenance of Workday Finance and related financial platforms.
  • Maintain robust documentation, governance standards, operating procedures, and change management records to support system integrity and audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and enhance reporting capabilities across Treasury, Finance and Balance Sheet Management activities.
  • Drive continuous process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen controls, and support the scalability of Finance operations.
  • Build strong working relationships across Treasury, Risk Management, Product, Technology, Operations, Data, and Finance teams to deliver integrated solutions and support strategic initiatives.

Business Partnering & Strategic Projects

  • Act as a trusted finance partner by providing insights and recommendations that support commercial and strategic decision-making.
  • Support management, Board, and regulatory reporting requirements relating to balance sheet performance, profitability, and capital management.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, transformation programmes, and special projects as directed by Finance leadership.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and assignments in support of the Bank's evolving business priorities and growth objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification in finance, accounting, or risk management (ACCA, CPA, CFA, FRM, ACT, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in Balance Sheet Management, Treasury Finance, Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Product Control, or a related finance function.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet management concepts, including liquidity risk management, interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB), funds transfer pricing (FTP), capital management, and ALM frameworks.
  • Experience supporting ALCO reporting, product profitability analysis, treasury finance reporting, or financial performance management within a financial institution.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and finance systems such as Workday or equivalent platforms, with exposure to finance transformation or systems implementation initiatives being an advantage.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with strong proficiency in Excel and experience working with large datasets, reporting tools, and data warehouses.
  • Experience within a banking, financial services, or regulated financial institution environment is strongly preferred, particularly within a high-growth, digital, or evolving operating environment.
