Role overview
Dual North America is seeking an Operations Specialist to support the Underwriting department.
At DUAL, the Underwriting Operations team supports the underwriting function by streamlining workflows, managing data accuracy, and ensuring operational efficiency. The team plays a critical role in enabling underwriters to focus on risk evaluation while maintaining compliance and delivering timely service to clients and partners.
As an Operations Specialist, you will assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative support across underwriting teams. You’ll help ensure policy accuracy and support initiatives that drive efficiency.
Role responsibilities
Builds and maintains step-by-step documentation of back-office and underwriting processes
Assists in training new underwriting teams in use of the system
Coordinates business process outsourcing (BPO) tasks
Assists onboarding of new teams, programs, projects
Sends underwriting correspondences (issuing insurance notices, underwriting documentation, reports, mailings etc.) as directed
Collaborates with other divisions within DUAL NA on projects as they are assigned
Assists other areas of the operations with shared services
Supports run-off programs as directed
Preforms other clerical duties, office support, and short-term projects as needed
Key requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience working in an office environment
Insurance industry experience preferred
Basic math skills are needed for determining premium amounts, commissions, etc.
Solid understanding of Insurance terminology
Proficiency in agency management system(s)
Willingness to learn new software
Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills
Ability to handle multiple and varying assignments daily and be able to properly evaluate importance
Ability to work independently for extended periods
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to follow policies and procedures
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment.
