Description
The Managing Director, Wealth Advisor will serve as a senior relationship manager within the firm's Private Client Services business and support the continued growth of the Seattle market. This individual will work closely with Executive Managing Directors (EMDs) and Senior Managing Directors (SMDs) to advise high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, support complex client relationships, and coordinate integrated advice across the firm while modeling a One Clearstead mindset.
The Managing Director will help deliver an exceptional client experience, support client retention and organic growth initiatives, and strengthen the firm's presence in Seattle and the broader region. In partnership with EMDs and SMDs, this individual will contribute to strategic client relationship management, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor developing advisors, and connect clients to the full breadth of Clearstead's capabilities.
- Support complex client relationships in close coordination with EMDs and SMDs, developing a deep understanding of each client's goals, family dynamics, financial circumstances, and decision-making preferences.
- Serve as one of the primary relationship leaders for an assigned group of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients and their families.
- Support the development and delivery of integrated advice across investments, financial planning, estate planning, tax matters, liquidity, risk management, philanthropy, and other family office needs, in coordination with internal and external specialists.
- Build enduring, trusted relationships with clients, family members, trustees, attorneys, accountants, bankers, and other professional advisors.
- Partner with EMDs and SMDs to help establish and execute client relationship strategies, ensuring recommendations, implementation, service, and communication are timely, accurate, and aligned with client priorities.
- Lead the preparation for client meetings and planning discussions, present recommendations clearly, and support clients through significant financial decisions and transitions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary client teams, clarify roles and expectations, delegate appropriately, and contribute to a consistent and exceptional client experience.
- Exercise sound judgment on complex or sensitive matters and escalate risks, service concerns, or fiduciary considerations appropriately.
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships by connecting clients with relevant capabilities across Clearstead.
- Contribute to the firm's growth through referrals, centers of influence, community engagement, and other business development activities consistent with Clearstead's strategy and values.
- Partner with investment, planning, operations, and other colleagues to support disciplined portfolio implementation, cash management, reporting, and execution of client strategies.
- Mentor and develop colleagues, provide timely coaching and feedback, and help build the next generation of client leaders.
- Promote collaboration and consistency across teams and regions, model One Clearstead behaviors, and actively support firmwide priorities and change initiatives.
- Maintain current and complete client documentation and ensure work is performed in accordance with fiduciary, compliance, privacy, and risk-management standards.
- Represent Clearstead with professionalism, discretion, and credibility in the marketplace and the communities we serve.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, law, or a related field is preferred.
· Significant experience advising high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families in wealth management, investment advisory, private banking, family office, trust, tax, or a related field.
· Demonstrated success leading complex client relationships and multidisciplinary teams.
· Strong knowledge of investments, financial planning, estate and tax considerations, liquidity management, and the coordination of sophisticated client needs.
· Comfort working in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment with high expectations for maintaining an extremely high level of service for clients.
· Proven ability to develop new relationships, expand existing relationships, and cultivate productive centers of influence.
· CFP®, CFA, CPA, JD, CTFA, or another relevant professional designation strongly preferred.
· Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and credibly.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant wealth management, financial planning, CRM, and reporting platforms.
