The Transportation Business Development Sr. Analyst plays a key role in ensuring Loblaw Transportation's vendor freight programs are financially accurate, profitable, and operationally efficient.

This role is responsible for analyzing and forecasting vendor freight rates, monitoring the financial performance of existing programs, identifying freight revenue and rate exceptions, and resolving issues that may impact program profitability. The Analyst also supports the financial health of vendor programs by monitoring outstanding receivables and investigating account discrepancies.

Using transportation, financial, and operational data, the Sr. Analyst provides insights that support accurate pricing, effective program management, revenue assurance, and continuous improvement. The role works directly with vendors and finance when required to resolve outstanding freight-related balances, reconcile discrepancies, and help ensure amounts owed are collected and accounts remain current.

This role is well suited to a highly analytical and systems-oriented professional who enjoys investigating complex problems, working with large data sets, and translating findings into actionable business solutions.

What you will do:

• Analyze Loblaw order history, vendor freight rates, transportation lanes, carrier capacity, and market carrier rates to assess program performance and support freight rate development.
• Prepare vendor freight rate packages and conduct regular reviews of existing rates to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with program profitability expectations.
• Monitor the financial performance of vendor freight programs and identify rate, revenue, or cost trends that may impact profitability.
• Perform detailed financial analysis related to vendor paybacks, invoices, SAP deductions, freight adjustments, and other transportation-related inquiries.

• Perform root-cause analysis to determine whether exceptions are related to rates, master data, system configuration, operational changes, vendor information, or other factors.
• Work directly with Vendors, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Transportation, and other internal teams to reconcile vendor accounts and support the timely collection of outstanding freight payments and amounts owed are paid within established terms.

• Use analytical and business intelligence tools to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and support fact-based decision-making.
• Translate complex data into clear findings and recommendations for Transportation, Finance, Supply Chain, and other business partners.
• Identify opportunities and support development to improve reporting, analytical processes, controls, and overall program efficiency.
• Work with various internal teams on Vendor transitions to ensure program profitability are not affected and the proper program set up is followed through.
• Assist will all WaaS/FaaS and CPU set ups to ensure rates, lanes, Inco Terms and financial items are inputted and reflected correctly in our systems

What you will need:

• University or College degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related discipline
• 2-5 years of relevant experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, retail, finance, analytics, or a related environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes.
• Strong business and financial acumen with an understanding of rates, costs, revenue, invoicing, and profitability.
• Transportation experience, ideally involving truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), freight pricing, or transportation solutions.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills (MS Access, Excel, SAP, TMS, Power Bi) and experience working with analytical tools and large data sets
• Professional and highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities, implementations, and deadlines simultaneously.
